OUR STORY
A cafe built from Love, Loss & Community
Our main purpose is to honour Veronique Sakr, who was tragically killed, along with her three cousins – Antony, Angelina and Sienna Abdallah – on 1 February 2020 at Oatlands, by a drunk and drugged driver. The Café honours Veronique’s love and passion for cooking, eating and engaging with people, whilst at the same time paying tribute to her cousins.
Our Love Wall honours the four children and also allows our community to do the same with their loved ones by pinning a photo of them on the Love Wall, so as to continue the bonds beyond physical death, Because Love Lives On. Please ask us if you wish for your loved one to be included on the Love Wall.

The Café will help support Bridget’s charity – Heartfelt, which is an online community created to support people experiencing grief and loss. See www.heartfelt.community.
Finally, the Veronique Sakr Scholarship has been established, funded by the Café, to enable a young girl to attend Santa Sabina College (where Veronique attended), where the recipient may not have otherwise been able to do so. This will commence in 2024 and will continue each year thereafter.
